Riverwalk Park Re-Dedication

The American Society of Landscape Architects in conjunction with EDSA and Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale will re-dedicate the Riverwalk Linear Park as one of two medallion locations in South Florida during this national honoring week.

We are very proud that Riverwalk Linear Park has been selected to be honored. Congratulations EDSA and Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale. Don’t miss this great event!

Completed in 1994, the Riverwalk is credited as a catalyst for urban core development and a renaissance of downtown Fort Lauderdale, taking advantage of the New River as a resource. But beyond its civic success, the project demonstrates the value of dedication to the establishment and stewardship of a high-performing urban tree canopy. As part of the redication ceremony The City of Fort Lauderdale will be planting a Live Oak tree, donated as part of the Riverwalk Trust’s Tree Harmony program.

The re-dedication will take place on Monday, September 10, 2012 at 6:00 PM in Esplanade Park. Numerous local and state officials and dignitaries will be attending the brief presentation in commendation of this national recognition of a treasured downtown city location.
