  • A panel of esteemed experts will discuss how the COVID-19 pandemic has brought to light the health disparities in our community, what can be done to change this course and technology’s role in addressing health disparities.
  • The webinar will shine a spotlight on health disparities and how it impacts Blacks/African American, Latinx, low income, and elderly communities. This includes the ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) demographic
  • Speakers will educate attendees on how organizations are pivoting and shifting in this moment, and what is required of healthcare providers, government, nonprofits, policy makers and philanthropy.
  • To imagine an equitable South Florida, the panel will discuss different health disparities that are preventable like, high blood pressure, diabetes and asthma by focusing on social determinants of health,  while  highlighting areas of  opportunity to achieve optimal health within disadvantaged and low-income populations.
  • This event is a free webinar for all healthcare providers, nonprofit organizations and human service organizations.
  • CEUs will be available – Certificates will be distributed to attendees for submission to their respective accrediting bodies.

Leigh Ann Bucanan, Esq., The founding Executive Director of Venture Café Miami and Nyah’s Project. And the former chair of the American Bar Association’s Coalition on Racial & Ethnic Justice.
Dr. Shanaz Fatteh, President of the Broward Medical Association & Clinical Professor, Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine (NSU MD)
