The 2018-19 Broward Center Dance Series presents a rousing finale with Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo. Toeing the line between high art and high camp, the Trocks, as they are known, is an international phenomenon of 16 all-male dancers who continue to perform parodies of famed ballet classics such as Swan Lake and Le Corsaire. Celebrating their 40th anniversary, these masterful dancers boast a wicked comedic sense of humor with respect for true classical dance. Delicately stuffed into tutus and man-sized toe-shoes, their humor is only outmatched by the dancers’ panache and technical prowess. The Seattle Times reported “The genius touch of the Trocks is that while the ballet’s stories and customs are, lovingly, played for laughs, the technique isn’t.”
