The FORT LAUDERDALE PIRATE FEST will feature a competitive Pirate-themed EVERYTHING, continuous live entertainment on the main stage, pirate encampments, street performers, beer garden, Stoked On Salt Ocean Conservation groups, 3 floating tiki bars on the River, food vendors & food trucks, arts & crafts vendors, LIVE canon demonstrations, LIVE mermaids, pirates, strolling characters, free give-aways and so much more for the entire family to enjoy! We are excited for partnering with Stoked On Salt to help embrace their Mission regarding ocean conservation issues here in South Florida. It’s a fun way to contribute to the preservation of our beautiful ocean, beaches and coral reefs that identify the special place where we live.

The proceeds from the Fort Lauderdale Pirate Fest will benefit the Fort Lauderdale Rotary 1090 Foundation (501c3) which provides college and vocational scholarships for deserving local High School Seniors and funding for various community service projects.

ABOUT the SOS OCEAN CONSERVATION DAY – PIRATES OF CONSERVATION :

“Many people are not aware of the ocean’s influence on us and our influence on the ocean and I wanted to do something that was inspiring for a younger generation because they’re the ones in line to inherit all these issues.” – founder of SOS Ocean Conservation Day, Lisa Miceli-Capano.

Within the “SOS Ocean Conservation Day” area, ocean/marine conservation groups will engage in outreach with the general public about issues that could be addressed on a local level which we so desperately need:  corals – manatees – lionfish – ocean debris – sharks – sea turtles – manta rays – lobstering – water quality – wildlife rescue – mangroves – fishing regulations – ocean safety and more.

Ocean Outreach for guests to include :

• Conservation groups educating the community on how to become more eco-friendly and help save marine life and coral reefs

• Photo-ops with real live mermaids sitting in her SeaShell throne, Pirate Capt. Theo Jones and strolling characters

• Interactive Areas – Arts & Crafts – Local Artists – Debris Sculptures – Pop-Up Art

• Collect outreach and educational materials as guests visit table-to-table

• Free, eco-friendly, biodegradable give-aways and more TBA!

May your anchor be tight, your cork be loose, your rum be spiced and your compass be true.
