United Way of Broward County Commission on Behavioral Health & Drug Prevention Broward Youth Coalition (BYC) will host its 26th Annual Youth Leadership Institute (YLI) entitled, “Building Blocks for the Future: The Power of You!” on June 21st-23rd at Nova Southeastern University. The three-day, two-night FUN Youth Summit will focus on youth empowerment, leadership, advocacy, public speaking, wellness, networking, yoga, drug prevention and mental health awareness/promotion. Participants will have the opportunity to earn up to 20 community service hours. Event sponsors include United Way of Broward County Commission on Behavioral Health & Drug Prevention, Broward Behavioral Health Coalition, Florida Department of Children and Families, Florida Council on Compulsive Gambling and Memorial Healthcare System.

Broward High School students may apply now by visiting http://www.drugfreebroward.org and accepted applicants can attend this event FREE of charge. The application deadline is June 8, 2018.

ABOUT BROWARD YOUTH COALITION (BYC)
Broward Youth Coalition is a program focused on developing youth advocates in substance abuse prevention and mental health promotion. BYC is designed to educate and empower youth so that they become positive agents of influence among their peers and within their communities. Through youth development and leadership programming, BYC builds the capacity and confidence within students to make healthy choices, engage in healthy behaviors, and live a drug free healthy lifestyle.
