South Florida residents, visitors, and pineapple enthusiasts are invited to take part in the official Guinness World Record attempt for the world’s largest pineapple pyramid during the monthly FATVillage Art Walk at C&I Studios in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Saturday, May 26, 2018 beginning at 6 PM EST.
Open to the general public, the record attempt will require 5,525 pineapples to complete the full pyramid – more than 6 tons of pineapple! Fort Lauderdale resident and record attempt organizer Perry Finley will construct the pyramid beginning at 6 PM EST and coinciding with the monthly Art Walk festivities which include art exhibits in various FATVillage galleries, street vendors, and more. C&I Studios will serve pineapple-themed cocktails throughout the evening and a special Pineapple Wheat Ale brewed by Flagler Village Brewery at The Brass Tap Fort Lauderdale will be available on draft.
All pineapples used in the record attempt will be donated and prepared and/or donated for consumption.
A special brunch will kick off an all day pineapple-themed after party the following day – Sunday, May 27 – beginning at 11 AM. In partnership with The Brass Tap Fort Lauderdale and Flagler Village Brewery , the pineapple-infused brunch menu will be curated by Executive Chef Jonathan Garr and feature items like Pina Colada French Toast, Pineapple Chutney Chicken and Waffles, Pineapple BBQ Chicken Wings and more. A unique, pineapple-inspired cocktail menu will also be available throughout the day.
