Get out your bell bottoms and headbands, and join us for The Summer of ’69, a Woodstock 50th anniversary event taking place at the Pompano Beach Cultural Center on Saturday, August 10, 2019 from 4pm-9pm.  The free event will feature live bands, a fashion show, food trucks and a full array of activities including tie dye classes, drumming circles and a viewing of the award-winning documentary Woodstock. “The original Woodstock was a defining moment in our culture. The music, the fashion and the indelible message of peace, love and harmony are forever associated with summer of 1969,” said Phyllis Korab, Cultural Affairs Director. “We are bringing back the free-spirited fun of that era, in a family-friendly version, that will delight all generations!”

 

Bring your guitar or keyboard and sing your favorite Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin or Grateful Dead song at our Summer of ’69 Open Mic. Participate in yoga and tie dye classes, enjoy busker artists and check out a dazzling array of hot rods during the classic car show.

4 – 8 pm – Woodstock Documentary (film on a loop in in the theater)

5 – 6 pm – Yoga Class taught by Corbin Stacy of YogaHome on the front lawn

5 – 7 pm – Arty Van Gogh (art on a painted school bus – see attached)

5 – 9 pm – Artist Vendors in the Breezeway and along 1st Avenue

5 – 9 pm – Busker Artists

5 – 9 pm — Food Trucks

5 – 9 pm – Tie Dye Class

6 – 9 pm — Classic Car Show

6 – 7 pm — 60s band performs

7 – 8 pm – Drumming Circle

7 – 8 pm – Open Mic and 60s Fashion Show

8 – 9 pm – Viva performs classic 60s hits
