New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players perform The Pirates of Penzance, one of the best loved pieces of musical theater. The acclaimed company’s vibrancy, energy and contemporary sense of humor deliver the operetta’s rollicking romp involving a band of swashbuckling buccaneers, bumbling British bobbies, frolicsome Victorian maidens and the delightfully dotty “model of a modern Major-General.” This production, featuring the rich sounds of full orchestra, chorus and vocal soloists, is performed in its original format directed and conducted by Albert Bergeret with choreography by Bill Fabris.
