Storybook Science Weekends in September!
Families of all ages will imagine ideas and explore possibilities as MODS brings some of our favorite STEM-themed books to life!
What can families do at the Museum?
- Activities: Hear the fairytales and favorite stories such as Eric Carle’s Very series; Rapunzel; Rosie Revere, Engineer; Ada Twist, Scientist; Iggy Peck, Architect; Otter in Space; Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!; Pete the Cat and the Supercool Science Fair; Patchwork Dragon; The Curious Garden, Bee Dance; We Are Water Protectors and more. Make-and-take age-appropriate STEM challenges that relate back to the story!
- Exhibits, Shows and Demos: Explore our To Fly Aviation Hall including The Hangar aviation-themed makerspace, Fly Zone, fully outdoor Physics Science Park, FPL Storm Center and Design! Build! Play! Keva!
- Animal Encounters: Learn about the animals that are in storybooks, such as otters, spiders, American alligators, beetles, crickets and others that call MODS home.
- IMAX on the GIANT Screen: Dinosaurs of Antarctica, Great Barrier Reef, Superpower Dogs, Dino Dana The Movie, Ocean Odyssey and more!
- Career Connection: Learn what it is to be a chemist, a writer, an educator, animal caretaker and more!
