The Pompano Beach Cultural Affairs Department is proud to present Storied, a series of four storytelling workshops designed to provide an inter-generational audience with the tools necessary to tell compelling and engaging stories about their lives and communities. Facilitated by a writer on Oprah’s OWN NETWORK, Richard “Byrd” Wilson, will provide user-friendly training and techniques to help turn the most meaningful events of life into unforgettable narratives.  The workshops will take place at the Blanche Ely House. $10 per workshop, for more information www.ccpompano.org or call 954-545-7800.

“With the phenomenal success of The Moth, and the numerous storytelling events around the country, we thought this would be the perfect way to introduce people to this exciting genre and provide them with the skills to become effective and entertaining storytellers,” said Phyllis Korab, Cultural Affairs Director.

The objective of this program is to utilize the art of storytelling to build the participant’s confidence and technique thereby equipping them with the attributes necessary to perform in front of an audience or camera.

Each workshop will feature:
• multimedia examples of compelling storytelling
• skill building activities
• opportunity to practice newly acquired skills

This series consists of four workshops and will culminate in a Community Storytelling Event at Pompano Beach Cultural Center on September 28, 2019; 1:00 pm-3:00 pm.
