Women’s empowerment advocate Amy Ballon is pleased to speak at a fundraising event on Oct. 23, 5:30-8 p.m. The event will raise funds for the Innocence Project of Florida ― a nonprofit organization that helps innocent prisoners in Florida obtain their freedom and rebuild their lives. Ballon has long supported the organization and will share steps that every person can take to protect themselves from becoming a victim of the criminal justice system.
Ballon ― a successful real estate sales and marketing professional ― is a passionate advocate for wrongfully accused victims of the criminal justice system, as well as women’s empowerment. Her initiative, Raising Awareness for the Innocent, which brings awareness to those unable to find their voice to share their truths and innocence, now has over 90,000 followers. She is the recipient of the 2018 People of Distinction Humanitarian Award by Al Cole from CBS Radio, and the Meljourne Woman Award. She has been nominated for a Department of Justice Victim Advocate Award. In addition, she is on the host committee and has raised funds for the Innocence Project of Florida.
Ballon will be joined by Kelliegh Helm, J.D., development assistant at the Innocence Project of Florida for an inspirational evening. The $50 ticket ($30 of each ticket is a tax-deductible donation to the Innocence Project of Florida) will include two drink tickets and appetizers. A raffle will take place as well.
