PARK(ing) Day is a one-day global event held on the third Friday of September each year that brings citizens together to transform on-street parking spaces into temporary public places, such as pop-up parks, for everyone to enjoy. Temporarily transforming parking places into people places challenges us to rethink the ways our streets and urban spaces are used, stimulates creative placemaking, and raises awareness for the importance of creating walkable, livable, and healthy communities.
The City of Fort Lauderdale invites neighbors, business owners, guests, students, and Community Builders to participate in PARK(ing) Day on Friday, September 20, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Celebrate with us by reclaiming City parking spaces and transforming them into temporary public spaces.
