John Paul White, founder of the indie label Single Lock Records, is best known has half of the the Grammy-winning duo The Civil Wars. His latest release, The Hurting Kind, draws on the lush, orchestrated music made in Nashville in the early 1960s. He has cultivated his career over the past two decades earning a fan base among indie rock listeners, folk audiences, Americana outlets and AAA radio. White’s recent recording collaborations include work with Jason Isbell, Candi Staton,Rosanne Cash, Emmylou Harris, Rodney Crowell, among others.
