James Taylor is the archetypal singer/songwriter who helped create the template for the troubadour style that dominated the 1970s. When he brings his blend of folk, pop, rock, and soul influences to the Annual Celebration, it will be like a part of history is unfolding before the crowd, with enough tuneful energy to generate some major good-time vibes. The multiple Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum songsmith offered up tracks like “Fire and Rain” and “Sweet Baby James” to the collective pop-cultural consciousness in the ‘70s, and they’ve stayed there ever since. He’s continued to make compelling music for many decades, and his shows are an eclectic mix of transfixing new tunes and beloved classics.
Presented by Dr. Lee and Brigitte Mandel, South Florida Sinus and Allergy Center, the Annual Celebration will kick off at 5:30 p.m. with an exclusive pre-show cocktail party at the Huizenga Pavilion and Wendt Terraces. At 7 p.m., guests will move into the Au-Rene Theater to enjoy Taylor’s performance. Then at 8:30 p.m., the celebration will continue with a dinner and dancing on stage in the Au-Rene Theater. Proceeds from the evening benefit the education and enrichment programs at the Broward Center.
