In what The Chicago Tribune called, “…music of hope and affirmation, sophisticated in its delivery but easily accessible to listeners anywhere,” the Guy Mendilow Ensemble performs The Forgotten Kingdom on Friday, November 16 at 7:30 p.m. Hailing from Israel, Palestine, Argentina and the U.S., the troupe combines world-class musicianship with cinematic storytelling. In this sweeping adventure, they lead a journey through former Ottoman lands reimagining the historical record of Sephardic communities of the Balkans and Mediterranean as the bittersweet yearning of fado and the rhythmic and emotional intensity of flamenco combine to stir those familiar with the culture and those new to it. Tickets are $19-$49.
