This winter, one of Fort Lauderdale’s most enduring and meaningful community traditions returns as Friday Night Sound Waves celebrates its 10-year anniversary season, running January 30 through April 3, 2026, at Las Olas Oceanside Park.
Presented by DiscoverFTLBeach.com and the Fort Lauderdale Beach Business Improvement District, Friday Night Sound Waves has been free and open to the public since its very first season, welcoming locals and visitors alike to gather by the ocean for live music, connection, and community.
What began in 2016 as a simple invitation to ‘slide off your shoes, slip into the weekend, bring a blanket, and bring a friend’, has grown into a shared experience shaped by the people who showed up, week after week. Over the past decade, the series has welcomed over 130 bands and more than 700 individual musicians, creating a soundtrack that reflects the diverse music scene in South Florida and the heart of the community it serves.
