Event Type

The City of Fort Lauderdale Parks and Recreation department is doing an awesome job at keeping our beaches in pristine condition. Our equipment does not pick up small items such as cigarette butts, can tabs, and bottle caps.  Our volunteers typically collect 100 pounds of trash, 25 pounds of recyclables and 10,000 cigarette butts.  You can help protect our jewel of Fort Lauderdale Beach and local wild life by removing these serious threats to sea gulls, turtles etc..

The volunteer team meets at the HUB,   300 S Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard, where Las Olas Blvd. meets the  beach.

 Important Volunteer Information:

• Proper attire is a t-shirt and pants – things you do not mind getting dirty!

• Due to the outdoor activity, it is recommended all volunteers wear a hat, sunscreen, and insect repellent, plus bring their own water and snacks.

• All tools will be provided.  However, for your personal comfort we request that you bring your own pair of garden gloves!

There is ample paid parking in the new City Parking garage just at the north side of Las Olas Blvd. east of the Intracoastal waterway.  Unfortunately the City cannot provide free parking at this time.
