In addition to “hands-on” learning of the art of calligraphy itself, participants will also be taught the history of pen lettering and the importance of the hand-copying of great works of antiquity, especially the Bible, in the scriptoria of the great monastic houses of the Middle Ages. All materials will be supplied by the teacher.
