Broward County Waterway Cleanup

Broward County Waterway Cleanup

The Broward County Waterway Cleanup, organized by the Marine Industries Association of South Florida, is the county’s largest and longest-running environmental event. The first Waterway Cleanup was held in the late 1970s to help ensure that both the community as a whole and the marine industry could enjoy our local waterways. The 2021 cleanup kicked off on Saturday, March 6th and continued throughout the entire month of March! In total, more than 1,200 volunteers of all ages by land and 100 boats worked at more than 35 sites across Broward County to remove 25 tons of trash and debris from our inland waterways. This year’s Cleanup will be on Saturday, March 5th, 2022. You do not need a boat to participate!
