Broward College Village Square will host the first of a series of non-partisan debates featuring guest speakers discussing their views on various issues facing the community. October will focus on the topic, “Post Traumatic Election Syndrome: Can the Political Parties Survive the Politics of Hate and the Anti-Establishment Movement?”

The goal of Dinner at the Square events is to hold public forums to better educate the public on divisive issues. This discussion will be a spirited but fact-based civil debate about this year’s controversial election cycle, the rise of hate and the anti-establishment movement in United States politics.

The panel will be moderated by Glenna Milberg, WPLG Local-10 reporter on South Florida’s top stories and community issues. She also serves as co-host on Local 10’s public affairs broadcast, “This Week in South Florida.”

 

Panelists include:

Mitchel Berger, Berger Singerman – has over 30 years of successful representation in commercial disputes, including Fortune 500 companies and an extensive list of political positions.  Most recentlyk, Berger was co-leader of the “Campaign for Change” for the National Democratic Coordinated Campaign, and a national finance board member of the Obama Victory Fund.

 Edward Pozzuoli, Tripp Scott – is an accomplished litigator and negotiator with extensive experience handling state, county and local governmental issues.  Pozzuoli is nationally recognized as a legal expert in charter and educational law.

 Justin Sayfie, The Sayfie Review – is a government relations consultant and the managing partner of the Ft. Lauderdale office of Ballard Partners and an attorney at Sayfie Law Firm.

 Tim Canova, Law and Public Finance Professor at NOVA Southeastern University – sought to represent Florida’s 23rd Congressional District, challenging Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz, in the Florida Democratic Party primary election.
