Join Nollywood filmmaker Tony Abulu in conversation with Nigerian producer Osahon Akpata, to celebrate the global release of Abulu’s film Doctor Bello on Netflix. This event is taking place in conjunction with the museum’s current exhibition Iké Udé: Select Portraits, featuring innovative works by the Nigerian-born, New York-based artist, Iké Udé.

Together Abulu and Akpata will give insight into the fascinating and historic world of Nigerian cinema, and share stories of the making of this master film, starring actors Isaiah Washington and Vivica A. Fox, alongside beloved figures from the Nollywood screen.

Tony Abulu is Chairman of Blaze Channel, USA and Atlantic World Digital Communications. For 40 years, Abulu has propagated African cultural and Business opportunities in the USA. Abulu’s film credits include “American Dream,” “Superstar” “Spellbound” and “Crazy Like a Fox” which was nominated in the Best film category at the prestigious American Black Film Festival in Hollywood.

Osahon Akpata is an ex-McKinsey consultant who is a writer, producer, banker and served as Project Director of Iké Udé’s Nollywood Portraits: A Radical Beauty. Osahon is a contributor to magazines and blogs including Vogue Italia, Forbes Africa, Mail & Guardian, Next Billion and others.
