6th Annual Yarn Bombing in Flagler Village on November 24th, 2018

This temporary installation will transform Andrews Avenue into a holiday streetscape.

The neighborhood holiday tradition continues with the 6th Annual Yarn Bombing on Andrews Avenue. This year’s theme, The Nutcracker, will display 9 statuesque nutcrackers and the Sugarplum Fairy created out of yarn by community volunteers. Cadence, a Landscape Architecture firm in downtown Fort Lauderdale, welcomes the community to bring helping hands to transform the 10 street trees on the 400 block of Andrews Ave.

Yarn Bombing employs colorful displays of fiber rather than lights or paint. The concept of Yarn Bombing is considered non-permanent and can be easily removed. The installation will be displayed for the duration of the holiday season.

Yarn Bombing is believed to have originated in the U.S. with Texas knitters looking to find a creative way to use their leftover and unfinished knitting projects. Since then, it has sparked imaginations and spread colorful displays worldwide.

All materials and embellishments will be provided. RSVP is not required but is suggested to reserve a tree. For questions or to RSVP, please email ashley@cadence-living.com.
