The first Downtown Day of the Dead Celebration will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025. Hosted by Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale and Damn Good Hospitality, the festival will continue the work of the immensely popular and successful Florida Day of the Dead Celebration and the Puppet Network to spread knowledge of the Mexican holiday, Día de los Muertos. Come and enjoy traditionally inspired food, drinks and face painting! This event invites the local community to celebrate a centuries old tradition and offers a taste of the pomp and circumstance that has inspired celebrations like this throughout the world!
The Day of the Dead Festival, hosted at Esplanade Park, will showcase face painting, authentic cuisine, crafts and more! The Day of the Dead Stroll will be a beautiful processional accompanied by incredible costumes, painted faces and festive spirits. The Stroll begins at Esplanade Park and ends along the New River using our beautiful Riverwalk to lead us back to the Festival grounds. The celebration continues on SW 3rd Avenue where Revolution Live is hosting the Day of the Dead Block Party! Keep the party going and “dance, dance, dance, ’till you’re dead” with even more music, fun, festivities, and enough libations to dance the night away.
The Downtown Day Of The Dead Celebration is presented by: City of Fort Lauderdale, Revolution Live/Backyard, Rick and Flo Celender, Kamora Coffee Liqueur, Morningstar Storage, Go Riverwalk Magazine and S. Mark Graphics.
Admission is free and the daytime festivities are fun for all ages!
