Day of the Dead

The first Downtown Day of the Dead Celebration was held on Saturday, November 1, 2025. Hosted by Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale and Damn Good Hospitality, the festival continued the work of the immensely popular and successful Florida Day of the Dead Celebration and the Puppet Network to spread knowledge of the Mexican holiday, Día de los Muertos.

The Day of the Dead Festival, hosted at Esplanade Park, showcased face painting, authentic cuisine, crafts, music and the festival welcome from Fort Lauderdale Mayor Trantalis and Mexican Consul General Eliel Campuzano Mendiola. The Day of the Dead Stroll was a beautiful processional accompanied by incredible costumes, painted faces. festive spirits and traditional Day of the Dead puppets. The Stroll began at Esplanade Park and continued down SW 2nd St and along the Riverwalk, culminating on SW 3rd Avenue where Revolution Live hosted the Day of the Dead Block Party!
