DESCRIPTION:History Fort Lauderdale\, committed to preserving our collectiv
 e heritage\, promoting historical literacy\, and fostering a sense of prid
 e and stewardship for the vibrant tapestry of our region’s history\, wil
 l present its Hispanic Heritage Month fifth anniversary exhibit\, “Viva
  Fort Lauderdale: Celebrating Hispanic Art &amp\; Culture.” The free fin
 e art exhibit\, running from Thursday\, September 17\, through Sunday\, Oc
 tober 25\, will feature work from local award-winning artists-in-residence
  including Florencia Clement de Grandprey (Spain)\, Isabel Perez Salazar 
 (Venezuela)\, and Lifrancis Rojas (Venezuela). New this year will be scu
 lptures from Norman Silva (Nicaragua). The exhibit will be available to vi
 ew at History Fort Lauderdale’s New River Inn (231 Southwest Second Aven
 ue).\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nHistory Fort Lauderdale’s “Viva Fort Lauderdale” 
 is sponsored by the following funds at the Community Foundation of Broward
 : Jan and Ed Crocker Unrestricted Fund\, Leo M. and Alice J. Rutten Fund a
 nd The Frederick A. DeLuca Foundation Broward Community Fund. Additional f
 unding is provided\, in part\, by Broward County Board of County Commissio
 ners as recommended by the Broward County Cultural Council and Visit Laude
 rdale.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nHistory Fort Lauderdale hosts a variety of engaging m
 ulticultural experiences\, year-round. It seeks to bring awareness to the 
 community through both traveling exhibits and multiple permanent exhibits 
 including “Women Trailblazers\,” “Fort Lauderdale – the Early Year
 s\,” “Roots of Resilience: The Journey of Black Broward\,” “Fashio
 n &amp\; Musical Theatre\,” “From Dugouts to Dream Yachts: the story o
 f boatbuilding along the New River\,” Seminole Arts &amp\; Culture\,” 
 “New River Archaeology\,” and “Take PRIDE\, a retrospective on LGBTQ
  life in South Florida.”\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nHistory Fort Lauderdale is open s
 even days a week from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. with docent guided tours\, daily\
 , at 1\, 2 and 3 p.m. Group walking tours are available upon special reque
 st. Admission is $15 for adults\; $12 for seniors and $7 for students (thr
 ough age 22 with a valid student ID). Admission is free for members\, mili
