 om the 1930s known only as “The Watermelon Woman.” Her search to uncov
 er the actress’s identity becomes a deeply personal exploration of race\
 , sexuality\, representation\, history\, and the stories of Black women th
 at have too often been overlooked.\nWritten\, directed\, and edited by Che
 ryl Dunye\, The Watermelon Woman was the first feature film directed by a
