 \n\nThe Chopin Salon featuring Margarita Shevchenko\, piano\, Winner o
 f the  International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw\, Poland is part 
 of the Voices series. Voices is a four-part original opera Salon series 
 that brings internationally celebrated artists into intimate spaces where 
 music and storytelling confront the human and civil rights issues shaping 
 our world today. Each program gives voice to communities whose histories
 \, struggles\, triumphs\, and identities deserve not only recognition\, bu
 t dignity.\n\nBorn in the Ural region of Russia and raised in a deeply mus
 ical family\, Margarita Shevchenko began piano studies at the age of fiv
 e before continuing her education at the prestigious Moscow Central Music 
 School and later the Moscow State Conservatory. Her extraordinary artistry
  quickly gained international recognition\, including First Prize at the G
 öttingen Chopin Piano Competition in Germany and distinction as a prizewi
 nner at the renowned 1990 International Chopin Competition in Warsaw\, Pol
 and. Her international concert career has carried her across the world’
 s great stages\, while her devotion to education has led her to teach mast
 erclasses globally and serve on the faculties of both the Cleveland Instit
 ute of Music and Michigan State University. After moving to the United Sta
 tes in 1994\, she continued advanced studies with celebrated pianist Serge
 i Babayan at the Cleveland Institute of Music.\n\nFor more information and
