DESCRIPTION:Launch PRIDE Month in style at Galleria Fort Lauderdale’s “
 Take PRIDE!” 2026\, a History Fort Lauderdale benefit cocktail reception
  and exhibition honoring LGBTQ+ community advocates. The special event\, h
 osted by previous “Take PRIDE!” honoree FayWhat?!\, will kick off Wilt
 on Manors Stonewall PRIDE Parade &amp\; Street Festival activities and pay
  tribute to some of South Florida’s most impactful LGBTQ+ leaders with s
 urprise performances. The stage presentation will include the first public
  performance for the newly crowned Mizz OutSFL. Attendees will also receiv
 e a sneak preview of the exhibition “Coming Out of the Shadows” that w
 ill run from May 29 – June 30 at Galleria Fort Lauderdale (2414East Sunr
 ise Blvd).\nThis year’s “Take PRIDE!” honorees who have made signifi
 cant contributions to the South Florida community are:\nChris Caputo\, com
 missioner and vice mayor of the City of Wilton Manors\; Dennis Dean\, exec
 utive director of ArtsUnited\; Robert Griffin and Durrell Watkins\, the bi
 shops of Sunshine Cathedral\; Ronnie Larsen of Ronnie Larsen Presents\, ac
 tor\, director\, playwright\, and producer\; Rafaelé Narváez\, co-founde
 r and director of health programs for Latinos Salud\; Jason Parsley\, owne
 r and publisher of Out South Florida\; William C. Schultz\, police chief\,
  City of Fort Lauderdale\; Nicole Stodard\, artistic director of Thinking 
 Cap Theatre\; and Tatiana Williams\, founder and executive director of Tra
 nsInclusive Group\, Inc.\nThe “Take PRIDE!” 2026 exhibit “Coming Out
  of the Shadows” will feature photos and ephemera that tell the stories 
 of the tumultuous political climate of 1960s pre-Stonewall Fort Lauderdale
 . The exhibit\, a collaboration with Stonewall National Museum\, Archives 
 &amp\; Library and Florida International University\, is curated by Fred F
 ejes\, professor emeritus of multimedia studies at Florida Atlantic Univer
 sity and Julio Capo\, Jr.\, an author and associate professor of history a
 t Florida International University.\nThe exhibition will be free and open 
 to the public during mall hours.\n“Take PRIDE!” is presented by Galler
 ia Fort Lauderdale with support from The Our Fund Foundation\, Seminole Ha
 rd Rock Hotel &amp\; Casino Hollywood\, HotSpots Media Group/Happening Out
  Television Network\, OUT SFL\, Hunters Nightclubs\, Gulf Stream Distiller
