DESCRIPTION:The Nova Singers will perform favorite songs of the group’s l
 ast 50 years in a concert series called Golden Oldies.\n\nThe concerts wil
 l include popular American standards\, choral favorites from the group’s
  early years\, spirituals and even a little Broadway.\n\nNova Singers\, un
 der the direction of Chuck Stanley\, will be accompanied by pianist Anthon
 y Ciotti and other instrumentalists.\n\nNova Singers began 50 years ago in
  the living room of founding director Peggy Joyce Barber\, a high-school c
 horal director who wanted to create a place for her students to sing after
  they graduated. Barber\, who died in 2024\, directed the chorus until 201
 0. The 130 singers range in age from 16 to 80-plus\, and two of the origin
 al singers\, including director Chuck Stanley\, are still with the group.\
 n\nThe concert will be performed three times\, in three different venues:\

 Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Children 12 and younger\, 
 plus students any age with school ID\, are admitted free. Advance tickets

  Nova Southeastern University’s community chorus\, whose members range f
 rom Nova undergraduate students to senior members of the local community.
