SUMMARY:Juneteenth Experience Community Workshop
DESCRIPTION:A free hands-on community workshop in Fort Lauderdale\, invitin
g all ages to create\, reflect\, and connect through art and creation.\nAs
part of Hued Songs’ two-year performance residency with the African Ame
rican Research Library and Cultural Center\, this free community workshop
invites participants to engage with the themes of The Juneteenth Experienc
e through hands-on artistic practice. Led by artist Pangea Kali Virga invi
tes the community into a collective act of creation—one that honors the
past\, holds the present\, and gestures toward a freer future.\nParticipan
 ts will contribute to a mixed-media Freedom Flag\, layering fabric\, mark\
, symbol\, and intention into a shared artifact. Each addition becomes a t
 hread in a larger story—of resilience\, memory\, joy\, and the ongoing p
ursuit of liberation. This is not just an art-making activity\; it is a ri
tual of belonging\, where individual expression gathers into collective me
aning.\nThe flag will be raised on June 19th &amp\; June 20th during the J
uneteenth Experience mainstage performances -- carrying with it the energy
\, care\, and vision of all who helped bring it into being.\nThis workshop
is participatory\, intergenerational\, and welcoming to attendees of all
backgrounds and experience levels. Participants will create\, reflect\, an
d connect in a shared space grounded in the belief that art-making belongs
to everyone.\nThis workshop offers a meaningful way to experience the spi
rit of Juneteenth through community\, creativity\, and conversation. Atten
dees will leave with a deeper connection to the themes of the series and t
o one another.\nThis event is free and open to all.\n\nFor more informatio
