SUMMARY:HFL’s “Three by the River” Art Opening Reception
DESCRIPTION:History Fort Lauderdale will host an opening reception and meet
 -and-greet for its “Three by the River” Artists-in-Residence annual ex
 hibition on Thursday\, June 4\, from 6 – 8 p.m.\, at the New River Inn M
 useum of History building on History Fort Lauderdale’s campus. Featured 
 artists include Constance Ivana\, Stephanie McMillan\, and Florencia Cleme
 nt de Grandprey. Complimentary light bites and beverages will be provided.
  The exhibition runs through June 30.\n\nConstance Ivana is a Fort Lauderd
 ale–based mural artist and visual creative passionate about creating bol
 d\, vibrant artwork that sparks reflection\, conversation\, and joy. Her a
 rt is inspired by social justice\, Black stories\, women’s voices\, and 
 nature.\n\n​Stephanie McMillan is a third-generation Fort Lauderdale res
 ident and artist. Her distinctive style combines affectionate humor with t
 he bright colors of the sunny tropics. A graduate of the\n\nTisch School o
 f the Arts at NYU\, with a focus in animation\, she began drawing illustra
 tions and editorial cartoons\, for which she won several Florida Press Clu
 b awards. This led to 25 years as a widely published freelance cartoonist 
 and illustrator producing award-winning editorial cartoons\, syndicated co
 mic strips\, comic journalism\, and graphic novels. In recent years she ha
 s returned to painting\, drawing\, and mixed media assemblage. She is the 
 author/illustrator of several books including As the World Burns and The B
 eginning of the American Fall: A Comics Journalist Inside the Occupy Wall 
 Street Movement (Seven Stories Press). Her original sketches\, illustratio
 ns\, comics\, and papers are archived at the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library
  and Museum at Ohio State University.\n\nBorn and raised in southern Spain
 \, Florencia Clement de Grandprey is a self-taught mixed media figurative 
 artist whose mission is to empower and inspire through meaningful and upli
 fting artwork. Her artistic journey began in 2014 when she left her full-t
 ime job in interior design to follow her true passion: painting. Clement d
 e Grandprey has developed a style without rules\, granting her the freedom
  to express herself fully. She blends her love for the classic masters wit
 h contemporary design\, resulting in unique mixed media paintings. Her awa
 rd-winning work celebrates strong\, confident\, soul-aligned men and women
 . She aims to highlight our unique\, perfectly imperfect nature\, bringing
  out our strengths and beauty as a reminder of who we truly are. She ensur
 es that a variety of ethnicities are represented\, making everyone feel se
 en and honored in her art.\n\nHistory Fort Lauderdale’s Artists-in-Resid
 ence Annual Show is sponsored by the following funds at the Community Foun

 ek from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. with docent guided tours\, daily\, at 1\, 2 and
  3 p.m. Group walking tours are available upon special request. Admission 
 is $15 for adults\; $12 for seniors and $7 for students (through age 22 wi
 th a valid student ID). Admission is free for members\, military and child
