SUMMARY:HFL Presents “En Vogue" Opening Reception
DESCRIPTION:Step into a stylish journey through time as History Fort Lauder
 dale presents “En Vogue: A Florida Fashion Retrospective\,” a new free
  exhibition featuring historic photographs\, garments and accessories popu
 larized throughout the 20th century. The showcase invites visitors to expl
 ore how clothing reflected and influenced cultural change and everyday lif
 e. The exhibition will be on view from March 5 through April 19 with a spe
 cial opening reception on Thursday\, March 5\, from 6–8 p.m. Guests may

 Through archival images and period fashion\, “En Vogue: A Florida Fashio
 n Retrospective” explores how clothing reflected changing societal norms
 \, cultural influences\, and evolving identities across a century. The exh
 ibition features photographs from iconic\, historic South Florida retail l
 ocations such as Hartley's - Miami and Fort Lauderdale (located in the old
  Sunrise Shopping Center\, now Galleria Fort Lauderdale)\, and Margo Fashi
 ons and Dagmar Fashions on Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale.\n\nFrom 
 elegant Edwardian silhouettes to the refined glamour of mid-century style 
 and even over-the top ‘90s style\, the exhibition highlights fashion as 
 both personal expression and historical record.\n\nSupport for History For
 t Lauderdale’s “En Vogue: A Florida Fashion Retrospective” exhibit h
 as been provided by the following Funds at the Community Foundation of Bro
 ward: Jan and Ed Crocker Unrestricted Fund\, Leo M. and Alice J. Rutten Fu
 nd\, and The Frederick A. DeLuca Foundation Broward Community Fund. Additi
 onal funding is provided\, in part\, by Broward County Board of County Com
 missioners as recommended by the Broward County Cultural Council and Visit
  Lauderdale.\n\nHistory Fort Lauderdale offers a variety of engaging multi
 cultural experiences throughout the year. It seeks to bring awareness to t
 he community through both traveling exhibits and multiple permanent displa
 ys including “Women Trailblazers\,” “Fort Lauderdale – the Early Y
 ears\,” “Roots of Resilience: The Journey of Black Broward\,” “Fro
 m Dugouts to Dream Yachts: The Story of Boatbuilding Along the New River\,
 ” “Seminole Arts &amp\; Culture\,” “New River Archaeology\,” “
 Viva Fort Lauderdale: Celebrating Hispanic Art &amp\; Culture\,” “The 
 Growth and History of the Broward County Sheriff’s Office\,” and “Ta
