DESCRIPTION:Miles for meals! Feeding South Florida® – the leading hunger
 -relief organization in South Florida – will host its 15th Annual Outrun
  Hunger 5K on Saturday\, April 4. Runners\, walkers\, families and communi
 ty leaders of all ages will come together to take steps to raise funds and
  awareness to end hunger in South Florida at Vista View Park in Davie.\nRe
 gistration will begin at 6:30 a.m.\, and the Outrun Hunger 5K will start a
 t 7:30 a.m. An award ceremony will take place after the walk/run. NBC 6 an
 d Telemundo 51’s Community Reporter Miriam Tapia will emcee the event an
 d engage with and energize the crowd.\nThe funds raised will support Feedi
 ng South Florida’s mission to end hunger in South Florida by providing i
 mmediate access to nutritious food\, leading hunger and poverty advocacy e
 fforts and transforming lives through innovative programming and educatio
 n.\nCurrently\, in South Florida\, there are over 1.2 million food-insecur
 e individuals\, and one in nine individuals in South Florida remain uncert
 ain about where they will get their next meal due to inflation\, the strai
 ned supply chain\, rising fuel prices and increased housing costs\, among 
 other factors.\nParticipants can join the event as an individual or a team
 . Those not participating in the walk/run may also support Feeding South F
 lorida’s mission to fight food insecurity by creating a personalized fun
