Riverwalk Get Downtown is being presented by Boca Developers. The owner of the Las Olas Riverfront, Boca Developers is one of the largest condominium developers in Florida, and the company's plans for the redevelopment of the Las Olas Riverfront site include condominium, hotel and office towers, as well as more than 100,000 square feet of retail space.
Radio support is being provided by Love 94. Major Supporters include Stiles Corporation and Exchange Lofts. Featured spirits include 10 Cane Rum and Chopin Potato Vodka. Fresh Beer will provide microbrew samplings. Attendees may register to win two-night, deluxe ocean view accommodations, dinner for two in illios and 50-minute spa treatments for two at the new Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort.
Support for the 2006 Fall Get Downtown Party was tremendous, raising over $22,000 for Riverwalk Trust and drawing over 1,000 attendees. Encouraging employees and residents to spend time Downtown after work before going home, Riverwalk Get Downtown aims to celebrate Downtown business, employees and new homeowners who contribute to its success.
The event is produced by and benefits the Riverwalk Trust. Perhaps best known for the successful Signature Brick Program (over 24,000 sold), the Riverwalk Trust serves as the catalyst in building and nurturing Riverwalk as a vibrant community connected by the New River. Current Riverwalk Trust initiatives to enhance quality of life in Downtown along the New River include partnering with the City of Fort Lauderdale Marine Advisory Board to install floating day dockage along Riverwalk. The group is also embarking on a study with the City of Fort Lauderdales Planning Department on an ambitious Downtown New River Master Plan. This year, Riverwalk Trust anticipates new construction of Riverwalk Park on the south side of the New River between the Downtowner Saloon and the Third Avenue Bridge.
