Fort Lauderdale Historical Society’s New River Inn. 231 SW 2nd Ave. (954) 463-4431 X 16. The Fort Lauderdale History Center (FLHC) presents this exhibit at the History Center’s 1905 New River Inn. The exhibit explores a brief chapter in the illustrious career of architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The centerpiece of the exhibit is a model of a vacation cottage, dubbed “Streamline” for its innovative circular design, which Wright designed in 1939 for a spot alongside Fort Lauderdale’s New River. Although the house was never built, FLHC has acquired a scale model and copies of Wright’s drawings thanks to donor Jon E. Krupnick, who led a movement in the 1990s to build the house as a Frank Lloyd Wright museum.
